Hibiscus Cottage at La Ruelmain
This is more a garden with a gite attached than the other way about. Hibiscus Cottage is a small stone-built cottage in the middle of a terrace, which was refurbished in 2004/2005. It is very small, but its courtyard garden becomes another room in summer. You can eat, drink and laze on a patio surrounded by flower beds, with views through a woodland garden down to the river. There is a way in and parking at the bottom of the garden
In the cottage itself the south-facing glass front door opens straight into the living room, which has a huge fireplace with wood burning stove. The kitchen corner has a gas stove and a fridge. Storage is in a large cupboard under the stairs, and there are dining table and chairs, a small sofa, a bentwood armchair and coffee table.
A spiral staircase leads to an airy bedroom with a south-facing window above the front door and a back dormer at tree-top level with views to the north and west over the garden. It feels a bit like living in a tree house.
There is a 5ft double bed that can be pulled apart into two singles, hanging rail, and chest of drawers.
The bathroom has a traditional French bath (120cms long) with shower over, loo, and washbasin. Constant hot water is included in the price.
