Out and about
Local towns for main shopping are La Roche Bernard (market day
Thursday) and Redon (market day Monday), charming and ‘typical’ small
French towns. Redon has several supermarkets and a cinema. Nearest
shops are at St. Dolay (5 km) with mairie, bars, small supermarket,
butcher, boulangerie, garage and pharmacy.

- Fishing, boating and swimming in the Vilaine.
- Eat at any of several good restaurants in Redon and La Roche
Bernard.
- Walk and cycle freely from La Ruelmain along tracks, paths
and quiet country lanes.

- Birdlife comprises larks, peewits, several sorts of owl, and
other birds of prey.
- Sea and beaches at La Baule (crowded), Penestin, Le Croisic
and Golfe du Morbihan.
- The Nantes - Brest Canal passes through Redon.
